„Derek Prince şi-a exprimat punctul de vedere conform căruia principalele probleme cu care se confruntă lumnea occidentală provin din ceea ce el numește „bărbaţii renegaţi”. Un renegat este definit ca „unul care-și încalcă cuvântul”. Este o acuzaţie aspră, însă evaluarea este validă. Dumnezeu le-a încredințat bărbaților responsabilitatea de a asigura conducerea în căminele și familiile lor: conducerea sub forma autorității iubitoare; conducerea sub forma managementului financiar; conducerea sub forma instruirii spirituale și conducerea în păstrarea relației maritale. Soții sunt învățați să-și iubească „nevestele cum a iubit şi Cristos Biserica şi S-a dat pe Sine pentru ea” (Efes. 5:25). Aceasta nu este o sugestie întâmplătoare făcută bărbaţilor creştini, ci este porunca lui Dumnezeu dată soților și taților.” (p. 67)

Philip S. Powell: „One of the other dangers of oversimplification is that it diminishes our ability to live with ambiguity and paradox. We don’t like the discomfort and disorientation that this creates. We would rather dumb-down or drown-out opposing or conflicting perspectives instead of affirming that different perspectives offer important truths, and that there is a need to do the hard work of engaging with these views for ascertaining a fuller, authentic understanding regarding a matter. Sometimes, this will also mean having to step back and see the bigger picture and learning how to connect the different dots to make sense of reality. Seeing the bigger picture will mean making some room for ambiguity and paradox. Our world is a complicated place and learning to appreciate this complexity is not necessarily a bad thing.

So let us enjoy the simple things of life while avoiding the dangers of oversimplification. What…
